{"id":135,"date":"2019-01-11T12:22:57","date_gmt":"2019-01-11T12:22:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/widezine.net\/teste\/?p=135"},"modified":"2026-05-29T11:58:58","modified_gmt":"2026-05-29T03:58:58","slug":"amazons-new-imdb-freedive-service-streams-ad-supported-movies-and-tv-shows","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/widezine.net\/zh_hk\/news\/amazons-new-imdb-freedive-service-streams-ad-supported-movies-and-tv-shows\/","title":{"rendered":"Amazon\u2019s new IMDb Freedive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Amazon-owned IMDb launched a new movie streaming platform today called&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/freedive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Freedive<\/a>, and it\u2019s basically Prime Video Lite.&nbsp;The ad-supported service is available from today in the US on the web, and via Amazon\u2019s Fire TV devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Amazon-owned IMDb launched a new movie streaming platform today called Freedive, and it\u2019s basically Prime Video Lite for film buffs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The service offers Hollywood movie titles like&nbsp;<em>Awakenings, Foxcatcher, Memento, Monster, Run Lola Run, The Illusionist, The Last Samurai,&nbsp;<\/em>and<em>&nbsp;True Romance<\/em>and TV shows like&nbsp;<em>Fringe, Heroes, The Bachelor<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Without a Trace.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If a title is available to stream on the new service, you\u2019ll see a \u201cWatch for free on IMDb Freedive\u201d button on IMDb\u2019s desktop site that will launch the movie or show on your computer. However, the site\u2019s search engine doesn\u2019t have a filter for Freedive titles in its database just yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"668\" height=\"399\" src=\"https:\/\/widezine.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/FreediveWatchBar._CB1547140130_-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4769\" srcset=\"https:\/\/widezine.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/FreediveWatchBar._CB1547140130_-1.png 668w, https:\/\/widezine.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/FreediveWatchBar._CB1547140130_-1-300x179.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 668px) 100vw, 668px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company makes it clear in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/help.imdb.com\/article\/imdb\/discover-watch\/imdb-freedive-faqs\/GZML3SK6UQK8EMYV#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">FAQ<\/a>&nbsp;section that you can\u2019t purchase movie titles, or pay a fee to get rid of ads as of now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We first heard about Amazon\u2019s plans to offer a free streaming video service back in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thenextweb.com\/video\/2018\/08\/29\/amazon-is-reportedly-building-a-free-streaming-video-service-for-fire-tv-owners\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">August 2018.<\/a>&nbsp;It was slated to launch a week after the report surfaced, but it\u2019s taken until now to officially launch. It\u2019ll rival Roku\u2019s ad-supported service in the US, and give Amazon&nbsp;a chance to bring in more revenue through advertising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company said its existing video content \u2013 trailers, interviews, and original short series \u2013 will be integrated into the new service.
