Sony lens for gimbal – $1,499 VS $400

The british illustrator, animator and filmmaker, Blake Evans, tested those 2 small light lenses that are suitable for gimbals, one of them is a top of mind and the other is a cheaper one.

As we can see in the video and according to the kind of work you desire the difference between them is really small considering the huge difference in price.

First of all, I would like to point out that one is full frame and the other is APS-C but both will result in 18mm image.

Lenses:

1- ZEISS Batis 18mm f2.8 USD1,499.00
2- Sony E 16mm f/2.8 (panqueca) $248 + Sony Ultra Wide Converter For SEL16F28   USD158 . This set of 16mm + 0,75 converter, since the APS-C crop is 1.5 will result in a 18mm lens (16mmx0,75=12mm x1,5 =18mm)

The camera used in the test was a Sony A7 III in full frame with ZEISS lens and in a crop mode with Sony 16mm.
